These Tutor Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between Algorithm Institute (“the Platform,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) and individuals or organizations who provide instructional content, mentorship, or related services on the Platform (“Tutor,” “you,” or “your”). By registering as a Tutor, creating courses, or delivering lessons on the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to become a Tutor.

  • You must have the legal right to provide educational services and enter into this agreement.

  • Tutors must have the necessary expertise, qualifications, or experience in the subject matter they wish to teach.

2. Tutor Responsibilities

As a Tutor, you agree to:

  • Create and deliver accurate, original, and high-quality educational content.

  • Ensure all course materials are lawful, non-infringing, and appropriate for learners.

  • Provide a professional and supportive learning environment.

  • Keep course information, descriptions, and pricing accurate and up to date.

  • Respect student privacy and use personal information only for educational purposes.

  • Comply with all applicable laws, including copyright, data protection, and tax obligations.

3. Content Ownership & License

  • Tutors retain ownership of their original course materials.

  • By uploading or publishing content on the Platform, you grant Algorithm Institute a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and promote your content on the Platform and through our marketing channels.

  • Tutors must not upload content that they do not have rights to use.

4. Payments & Revenue Sharing

  • Tutors will receive payment based on a revenue-sharing model (details provided in your Tutor Agreement or onboarding pack).

  • Payments will be made via the methods supported by Algorithm Institute (e.g., bank transfer, PayPal, or local payment partners).

  • Tutors are responsible for all applicable taxes in their jurisdiction.

  • Algorithm Institute reserves the right to withhold or adjust payments in cases of refunds, chargebacks, or policy violations.

5. Prohibited Conduct

Tutors must not:

  • Post or share inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content.

  • Engage in harassment, discrimination, or exploitation of students.

  • Use the Platform to promote unauthorized third-party services or products.

  • Circumvent the Platform by directing students to pay outside the Platform.

  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

6. Student Interaction

  • Tutors are expected to maintain professional behavior and communication with students at all times.

  • Any abuse, harassment, or exploitation of students will result in suspension or termination.

  • Tutors must provide reasonable support and responses to student questions within agreed timelines.

7. Platform Rights

  • Algorithm Institute may review, approve, or remove courses or tutors that do not meet quality, legal, or community standards.

  • We may modify features, pricing models, or policies, with notice given to tutors.

  • The Platform is not liable for technical interruptions, student behavior, or loss of earnings resulting from issues outside our control.

8. Termination

  • Tutors may close their account at any time by notifying us.

  • Algorithm Institute may suspend or terminate a Tutor’s access for:

    • Breach of these Terms,

    • Misconduct toward students,

    • Intellectual property infringement,

    • Fraud or misuse of the Platform.

  • Upon termination, tutors will lose access to their dashboard, but content already purchased by students may remain accessible to those students.

9. Confidentiality

Tutors agree to keep confidential any non-public information about the Platform, its operations, and its students.

10. Limitation of Liability

Algorithm Institute is not responsible for:

  • Loss of income due to downtime or changes in Platform policy.

  • Student misuse of content.

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Tutors will be notified of significant changes, and continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law principles.
